Christening Day!

Yesterday we Christened Paige. There was only one other child, an infant boy being baptised at the same time. Paige was very vocal during the ceremony. She also took off her shoes, and socks. When it came time to put the water on her head, she was not a happy camper at all, but quickly recovered. The priest was very good about it, and laughed during the mass, especially when it sounded like Paige screamed out "AMEN". Her dress was perfect for her, and I think she looked like a little Princess in it... After the ceremony we hosted a party that was a combination Christening and Birthday party. We had about 80 people there, complete with DJ and TINKERBELL. Paige did great, and is such a social butterfly. She loved being around all the people, didn't cry when anyone picked her up. She was very happy to walk around and dance and just be Paige. My sister is the godmother
My niece Taylor
Kyle is the godfather

Week of Firsts

This past week has brought a lot of first for Paige. Her first birthday, her first haircut ( a trim really ), her first daycare visit, her baptism, and her readoption. Wowee, what a week for our litte princess. Paige hated having her hair cut so cried the whole time.

She seemed to love her daycare experience this past week. I took her in for one hour on Thursday, and Friday. I stayed in the center and watched her on the video. Her teacher is so very patient and sweet, and it seemed like all the teachers, as well as the director, took to her right away. The first day Paige sort of just sat and crawled around a bit. Her teacher carried her around and introduced her to the children. The second day she was totally comfortable and walked all around, explored and even made us her very first picture. I have to say, that I feel much better about leaving her there. I watched all the moms, and dads drop off their children. Everyone seemed calm, and happy to be there. I like the way everthing seems so clean, and the center runs with such efficiency. I liked the way it felt while I sat there for that hour each day. Next week I will leave her 2 half days so that she will really feel comfortable before I go back for the full day.
I am extremely sad to have to leave her. I have enjoyed every moment being home and being able to be there for her. It has been enjoyable too, being there for Coleton in the morning taking him to the bus, and in the afternoon picking him up from the bus. I know he is going to miss that. It has been fun staying home. I have to say I had very little stress other than that in which I put on myself . I am on my own schedule and if I don't get something done one day, I always knew I would have the next to do it. I definately don't look forward to the stressful mornings, getting everyone ready, and then the traffic into work. I like being a teacher but I love being home... Yet I know that Paige will thrive and I will get back into the routine of working. This is a great daycare with a really good curriculum, even at Paige' age, and she will learn a lot there. I know that my career is a good one and I do enjoy it once I am there. I know that I won't ever have to worry about me losing my job, and I am planning for my future retirement as well.I know that my daughter will grow up and know she can do it all... and have a career and a family as well. I know that material things are not important, but boy do I love to shop and especially for my kids. Without my great job I wouldn't be able to do that. I know once I am back into a routine, I will be fine...

On Friday I got a call from the family court here, saying that our readoption had been signed. Yea... and then I realized that it was pretty special- because Friday was National Adoption Day...Paige is pretty special. We don't have to appear in front of a judge here, it is just paperwork. So I think I have covered all the firsts that I have for now but stay tuned for the picts from her Christening today.

Happy Birthday !!!!!

Today is Paige's first birthday. I can not believe that she is one already. She has grown so much in the 12 weeks that she has been home. We know her birthmother is thinking of her today. I hope she is doing well, and wish she knew how thankful we are for this beautiful little girl she gave to us.. she is truly a gift and we know how lucky we are.
It is amazing how much Paige is doing now. Here are highlights of what she is doing.
* Eats everything- pretty much.
* Still sleeps from 7pm- 7 am.
* Starting to take naps during the day( usually around 11 and then again at 3:30.
* Started milk last week. Seems that she likes it but we have to serve it to her warm.
* Still giving her 4 oz of formula at night- just because.
* Walking like crazy... each day she walks more and more...
* Knows the things she is not supposed to do and when she is doing them, turns to me and goes "MAAMAAA" with a big smile on her face.
* She loves Mystic our dog.
* She loves to dance.
* Does itsy bitsy spider with her fingers.
* When she wants to be tickled she moves her fingers like I am tickling her.
* bites me very hard- What's up with that?
* sits on her princess car the right way and actually gets it to move.
* does not stop moving from the minute she gets up til she goes to bed.
* Likes to watch Sesame Street (I can get 5 minutes of standing still for that)
* gives the sweetest kisses and hugs.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY PRINCESS!!!! WE LOVE YOU FOREVER!!

Tomorrow we are baptizing her. We are having a really big party to celebrate both her Christening and her first birthday.

Just because

Paige has brought so much happiness and joy to this family. We love her so much. I can not believe that next week she will be ONE. I feel that time is flying and I am just getting to know this little girl. She amazes me every single day with things she does. She walks more and more everyday,and is really becoming quite the little person. So much has changed in one short year of her life and so much is going to change again for her in the next 2 weeks as I go back to work. I will write more about that in another post. For now enjoy the cuteness.

CONGRATULATIONS

Today Coleton's team won the CHAMPIONSHIP in our county in their division. Their team had an undefeated year and now are the Champs. GO SHARKS!!!!!! The boys (and their parents) worked very hard for this.

Of course Paige loved every second and go figure - one of her first words were "TOUCH DOWN" with arms over her head.....
